To obtain a New Jersey driver's license, permit, non-driver ID card or boat license, you must prove your identity by passing the 6 Points of ID Verification. You must show:
- at least one Primary Document,
- at least one Secondary Document,
- a verifiable Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN),
- and proof of address.
All primary and secondary documents presented must be valid and current, or expired for no more than three years.
These requirements are proposed, and subject to change once the Motor Vehicle Commission finalizes their regulations.
